Set in an island paradise during World War II, two parallel love stories are threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war. Nellie, spunky nurse from Arkansas, falls in love with a mature French planter, Emile. Nellie learns that the mother of his children was an island native and, unable to turn her back on the prejudices with which she was raised, refuses Emile's proposal of marriage. Meanwhile, the strapping Lt. Joe Cable denies himself the fulfillment of a future with an innocent Tonkinese girl with whom he's fallen in love out of the same fears that haunt Nellie. When Emile is recruited to accompany Joe on a dangerous mission that claims Joe's life, Nellie realizes that life is too short not to seize her own chance for happiness, thus confronting and conquering her prejudices.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school. Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and The Beast is the story of a beautiful but kind girl called Belle who's father becomes imprisoned by The Beast. She ends up taking his place at the Beast's castle. The beast treats her well, and gives her expensive gifts and riches. Belle learns to love the beast, but only as a friend. Belle becomes homesick and the Beast allows her to leave only if she promises to return a week later, he gives her a ring which will allows her to come back imminently and a mirror to see what's happening at the castle. Belle's sisters trick her into staying one day later than a week in hope of the beast becoming angry and killing her, but Belle feels guilty and looks into the mirror to see the Beast dying of heartbreak. She uses the ring to return to him half dead, weeps over him and tells him she loves him. When she says that he turns into the handsome prince he was before and tells her it's was a curse from a fairy because he wouldn't let her in from the rain, and that only when someone could love him whilst being hideous could return to true form.
